Our dermatology office serves Palo Alto, Burlingame, Menlo Park, and other Bay Area residents. We are conveniently located at 280 Baldwin Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94401. Get a map and driving directions.
We are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We do offer some Saturday hours, but be sure to ask your provider in advance if you need a weekend appointment.

We ask that you give us 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This will allow us to offer the time slot to another patient. If you do not keep your appointment or do not call in advance, a charge will apply to your account.
We may ask you to arrive a few minutes early to fill out Patient Registration Forms and to provide your insurance information. You can learn more and download forms in advance here.
One of our physicians is always on call during non-business hours. However, if you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 for immediate assistance.

Yes, our staff can perform liposuction, which is a surgical technique to remove fat cells from the body. We also offer the CoolSculpting® procedure that can provide significant results for areas of stubborn fat without surgery.
Yes, we use narrowband ultraviolet (UV) light to treat skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema, and vitiligo.
Yes, Dr. Maltz and Dr. Chui are board-certified dermatology specialists. They are highly qualified to assess, diagnose, and treat skin conditions including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, alopecia, sun damage, skin pigment disorders, and many others. In addition, they can address your skin cancer concerns with diagnostic and treatment expertise.
Allura Skin & Laser Center participates with most insurance companies. If you are unsure whether your insurance provider covers our services, you can find out by calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card.
We accept cash, checks, Visa/MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Please note that any charges, co-payments, co-insurance, or deductibles are required at the time of your visit.
No, we do not file insurance claims for cosmetic procedures. Insurance companies that have chosen us to be participating providers require that we file claims for medically necessary services only; therefore, payment of non-covered services is due at the time of service.
Many insurance companies require a referral to specialists such as Dermatologists. Before making an appointment, please check with your insurance carrier and obtain a Physician Referral Authorization, if needed. You do not need a referral for cosmetic procedures, since we do not file insurance claims for these types of services.
